Steve, I'm sorry I did not see this earlier.

According to the Kentucky Death Records (available via Ancestry.com), these unfortunate family members all died of the "flux". Joseph Wren is listed as being born in South Carolina, the son of "S & _ Wren". Jane was born in Pennsylvania and the daughter of "A & Rachel Evans".

We have this family listed in our database.

Again, my apologies for not seeing this sooner.

Hello,

There is a family cemetery not far from my house here in
Bowling Green (Warren county) Ky. The majority of the
headstone bare the name Wren. Some of these are:

Margaret Wren (Daughter of J&J Wren) Born 4/7/1829 Died
8/1/1854
Joseph Wren Born 7/10/1794 Died 7/29/1854
Interesting they died within a few days of each other??

Jane Wren Born 2/29/1796 Died 7/17/1851

Others:

Elizabeth H. Campbell (Wife of WS Campbell) Born Jan 1823 died Sept 1864

Rachel Haans (Consort of A. Haans) Born 1760 Died 1816

If you have any info about these folks feel free to share it. My daughter (11) and myself would enjoy learning more.

Sincerely,

Steve Stinson

Hey, there, Bubba/Tom!

I just got off the phone with him. He says to tell you he's still kicking at 88, but not actively involved in genealogy at this point because he's focusing on other stuff right now.

He says his old email still works and he checks it nearly every day so that's the best way to reach him. (Email me if you don't have it and I'll send it to you.)

Thanks so much for this information on how to possibly get a copy of the Warren County original marriage bonds & consents. I immediately sent off the email asking to get a copy of the marriage bond of Obadiah Smith and Matilda Stone, 4 Jan 1838. Wish me luck that this one survived. That's so scary to think they were put in the trash. Ellen Smith

Site hasn't been updated in 15 years or so.
However, I have a great deal of information on the Robert and Mahala Wren family of Henry County, Tenn. Where they arrived in 1825 after their marriage.

Two sons, Charles and William Robert came to Texas after CW. Charles settling in Hughes Springs, Texas and marrying a Allen. Know of only one child; Hurd Wren, who married Francis Thompson, whose father came to Texas from Ga. after refusing to sign alligence to the Union. William Robert, maried and settled in Brown County and surrounding counties. Many descendants from both Charles and William Robert still abound in Texas. One is my wife - for whom I began with research in 1949.
Anyone is welcome to contact me. I will be more than happy to provide all information I've gleand over decades.
Also recently recieved copies of orig documents from my cousin in Sumner County, Tenn. re Christopher and Sarah Wren, circa 1844. (Do not have ages of either).
Sincerely,
Vernon Drewa
Keller, Texas
(15mi N. of Fort Worth.)
